A Mosque That Holds a Community Together
For decades, Muslims in Antigonish County had no dedicated place of worship. When the Antigonish Mosque was established, it became far more than a prayer space — it became the heart of a growing community.
Today, the mosque serves families, students, and professionals not just in Antigonish, but from surrounding areas up to 60 kilometres away. As the only mosque in the entire county, its doors are open to everyone.
Situated in a university town, the mosque brings together local residents and university students in a truly unique way — a shared space for worship, learning, and genuine human connection.
Growth Is a Blessing — But Space Has Its Limits
The community has grown faster than anyone anticipated, and the current space is no longer enough.

Building the Community Hub — Ready for Ramadan 2026
Phase 2 of the Antigonish Mosque expansion will transform this space into a fully functional Islamic community centre — not a pit-stop mosque, but a true home.
What’s Being Built:

Every Dollar Goes Directly to the Build
Your contribution will fund a complete transformation of the mosque, including:
- Expanded and improved wudu areas
- A dedicated, welcoming space for women
- A prayer hall twice its current size
Once complete, the mosque will have the capacity to host:
- Women’s circles and educational programs
- Community iftars throughout Ramadan
