- Teaching certification and/or licensure in French Education.

- Experience teaching French to elementary-aged students, preferably (not necessarily) in an Islamic school setting.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents from diverse backgrounds.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can work with minimal supervision and is familiar with
building systems, Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Sprinkler, and Heating. A successful Maintenance
Technician candidate will have various prerequisite skills and qualifications required for the duties of this
job.
- Perform preventive maintenance according to the vendor's recommended schedule to keep the
buildings in good standing and record the maintenance program. - Responsible for organizing and keeping maintenance inventory and tools in suitable locations.
- Be on call in and respond to emergencies promptly and prioritize important work.
- Communicate issues or problems to upper management in an organized manner.
- Organize calendars and appointments, especially about regular required maintenance.
- Take on small maintenance projects such as drywall repair, painting, Lamp replacement,
- Must have his own reliable vehicle.
- Ability to lift heavy objects to 50lbs.
- Ability to solve basic maintenance problems that may arise on the job.
- Ability to multitask a variety of appointments and requests at one time
- A Grade 12 diploma and some secondary education in the trades and or building management,
- At least five years of experience managing commercial buildings' operation and preventative
maintenance. - knowledge of the NSOHSA and safe work procedures.
- Experience with tendering and awarding mid-sized projects, as well as supervising projects, is an
asset.
Develop and implement child-care programs (infant to 5 years) that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest, providing opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity. Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits. Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisor. Knowledge of Day Nurseries Act and licensing regulations. Establish guidelines for behavior. Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children. Assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members. Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well being of children.

About the Role:
Ummah Society and Maritime Muslim Academy (MMA) is seeking dedicated and responsible individuals to join our team of School Bus Drivers. As a vital part of our school community, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of students to and from MMA. You will contribute to a positive Islamic environment where students can thrive.
Responsibilities:
- Safely transport students according to designated routes and schedules, adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
- Operate the bus in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring a smooth and comfortable ride for students.
- Maintain a clean and safe bus environment, conducting pre and post-trip inspections to identify any mechanical issues or safety hazards.
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, providing particular care for younger students or those requiring extra support.
- Enforce bus safety rules and regulations specific to MMA, maintaining order and discipline while respecting Islamic principles.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and dispatch as needed.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or disciplinary issues to the appropriate authorities.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions to maintain qualifications and update knowledge of safety procedures, including those specific to MMA.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Class 1 or 2 driver’s license.
- Clean criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact positively with students of all ages.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
- Patience, reliability, and a commitment to student safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with Islamic principles and values is a strong asset.
Assets:
- Experience driving a school bus.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) area.
- Fluent in Arabic and English language
- Positive attitude, a passion for working with children, and a desire to support a Muslim learning environment.
