Bus Driver

About the Role:

Ummah Society and Maritime Muslim Academy (MMA) is seeking dedicated and responsible individuals to join our team of School Bus Drivers. As a vital part of our school community, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of students to and from MMA. You will contribute to a positive Islamic environment where students can thrive.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport students according to designated routes and schedules, adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
  • Operate the bus in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring a smooth and comfortable ride for students.
  • Maintain a clean and safe bus environment, conducting pre and post-trip inspections to identify any mechanical issues or safety hazards.
  • Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, providing particular care for younger students or those requiring extra support.

Job Summary:
Ummah Mosquegrowing community. The Imam will provide spiritual guidance, lead religious services, and establish educational programs, particularly focusing on youth and university students, including the local Muslim Student Association (MSA), to help advance their work and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the five daily prayers, as well as Friday and Eid prayers, including delivering khutbahs (sermons).
  • Organize and lead Taraweeh prayers during Ramadan, coordinating with community Huffaz.
  • Establish programs for youth that enhance social, educational, and religious development.

Accounting Clerk/ Intermediate Bookkeeper

JOB TITLE: Accounting Clerk/ Intermediate Bookkeeper

Ummah Society is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Accounting Clerk/ Intermediate Bookkeeper. The person would be responsible for managing the financial books of the Ummah Society, which controls and operates the Maritime Muslim Academy (MMA) ,the Ummah Masjid & Community Center (UMCC) and Atlantic Muslim Resource Centre( AMRC). This is a full-time position and comes with competitive salary, flexible working hours, and medical coverage.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  •     University or college degree in Business Administration, with preference given to applicants specializing in Accounting.
  •     Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting clerk experience.
  •     Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
  •     Proficiency in using accounting software, with a preference for those experienced in Sage.
  •     Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
  •     Punctual, reliable, responsible, and dependable work ethic.
